Floor-standing AC units (concealed and visible)

Floor-standing units mount at floor level — either hidden inside cabinet joinery (FNA concealed) or on show as a slim floor console (FVA / Nexura). The answer when ceiling installation is impossible (grade-listed, low ceilings, exposed services) and wall-mounted looks wrong. Nexura variants add radiant heating from the front panel for chilly perimeter zones.

Key benefits

01

Truly hidden install

Fits inside cabinet joinery or low-level voids — no visible wall or ceiling unit anywhere in the room.

02

Works when ceilings can't be touched

The go-to option in Grade-II listed refurbishments where cassette and ducted installs need consent that won't be granted.

03

Whole-room even coverage

Low-level supply combined with high-level return produces even temperatures floor-to-ceiling — no stratification.

04

Compact footprint

Alpha (FNA-A9/RZAG-B) fits inside a standard 600mm cabinet depth; Standard is even shallower.

05

50m pipe run option

The Alpha pairing supports 50m total pipe run — outdoor units can sit far from the room, useful in listed contexts.

    FNA-A9 / RZAG-B

Concealed Floor Standing — Alpha (50m)

Long pipe runs for listed and heritage projects.

Concealed floor-mounted indoor paired with the Alpha outdoor — up to 50m total pipe run so the outdoor unit can sit well away from the building. The specifier's default for Grade-II listed hotels and executive fit-outs where cassette and ducted installations aren't consented.

  • 02
    FNA-A9 / RXM-A

Concealed Floor Standing — Standard inverter

Economical spec for shorter runs and light-commercial.

Same concealed FNA-A9 indoor with a standard split outdoor — the value option when the outdoor can sit within ~20m. Suits boutique-hotel single-room retrofits and high-end residential where the Alpha's extra pipe budget isn't needed.

  • 03
    FVA / AZAS

    Floor Standing Active (visible console)

Entry-level visible floor console for light-commercial retrofits.

Slim visible floor-standing console paired with the AZAS outdoor — the value option when there's no cabinet joinery to conceal the unit and a wall-mounted install isn't wanted. Suited to small offices, consulting rooms and single-zone retail retrofits.

  • 04
    FVA / RZASG

    Floor Standing Advance (visible console)

Commercial-grade visible floor console paired with Sky Air Advance.

Visible FVA console with the Sky Air Advance outdoor — the standard commercial spec where the unit needs to sit on show. R-32 refrigerant, DIII-Net compatible, extended pipe budget versus the Active pairing.

  • 05
    FVA / RZAG

    Floor Standing Alpha (visible console)

Highest efficiency visible floor console for spec-driven projects.

Visible FVA console paired with Sky Air Alpha for best-in-class SEER/SCOP figures. Right for long-hours occupied spaces, BREEAM-scored fit-outs and energy-in-use tenders where a concealed cabinet install isn't practical.

  • 06
    FVXM-B / RXM-A

Floor Standing Nexura (radiant front panel)

Radiant heating from the front panel for cold perimeter zones.

Nexura pairs the FVXM-B floor console with a warm radiant front panel, giving a radiator-like heat feel at low airflow — the go-to when perimeter cold spots (curtain-wall glazing, north-facing seating) can't be solved by convective heating alone. R-32 refrigerant, split outdoor.

Frequently asked

Where does a concealed floor-standing AC actually sit?
Inside built-in joinery — a bespoke cabinet, a bench seat, or a low-level bulkhead — with a discreet supply grille at the top and a return grille at the bottom. The joinery is designed around the unit at RIBA Stage 4.
Do listed buildings allow floor-standing concealed AC?
Usually yes, subject to Listed Building Consent — because the intervention is reversible (removable joinery, small pipe penetrations) and no ceiling or original fabric is altered. Cassette and ducted installs typically don't get consent.
What's the difference between Alpha and Standard in the FNA range?
Alpha uses a Sky Air Alpha outdoor supporting up to 50m pipe run and higher SEER/SCOP; Standard uses a split outdoor limited to ~20m. Choose Alpha when the outdoor must sit far away or when energy-in-use is scored.
